If you have a floor plan image and want visitors to click on individual rooms or units to see details, you have a few options — inline SVG, image map HTML, or a dedicated plugin. Inline SVG gives full control but requires a developer and manual updates. HTML image maps are outdated and not responsive. A plugin like Interactive Real Estate handles the polygon drawing, data storage, and rendering — with no code. For most WordPress sites, the plugin approach ships faster and stays maintainable.
Install Interactive Real Estate
Install the free plugin from WordPress.org. Activate it and go to IRE Projects → Add New to start your first project.
Upload your floor plan as the project background
Upload your JPEG, PNG, or WebP floor plan image. The canvas editor overlays directly on the image — what you draw maps pixel-perfectly to the image as it appears to visitors.
Draw clickable polygon zones
Select the polygon tool and click around the boundary of each room, apartment, or area you want to make clickable. The editor closes the polygon on the last click. You can drag vertices to adjust the shape at any time.
Add the information buyers will see on click
For each polygon, enter a name, description, price, area, or any relevant detail. Choose whether clicking opens a popup, follows a link, or fires a JavaScript function.
Embed the interactive floor plan on your page
Copy the shortcode (e.g. [irep_project id="7"]) and paste it into any WordPress page using Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, or any other editor. The clickable floor plan is live immediately.
